When is Teal to Heal?

Teal to Heal takes place on May 11, 2025. Registration for in-person participants begins at 9 am. 

Here are the start times for each run/walk: 

  • 5K walk, in memory of Alanna Conn, begins at 10:00am
  • 2K walk, in memory of Gina Levangie, begins at 10:15am
  • 5K run, in memory of Joan McNeil, begins at 10:15am 

 

Where does Teal to Heal take place?

The event will take place at Membertou Sport and Wellness Center (95 Maillard street). If you are unable to make the event in-person, you are welcome to register and participate virtually! 

 

How much does it cost to participate in this run? 

This event is free to participate in, though if you're able, we invite you to consider a donation to help support the cause. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

 

Will I receive a tax receipt?

All donations $20 and more are eligible to receive a tax receipt. 

 

What do the proceeds of the run go towards?

All proceeds from this run support the Teal at Home fund through the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, and those living with gynecological cancers in Cape Breton. 

 


How do I register my child/children?

In our efforts to protect the privacy of minors, we are no longer storing their personal information in our donor database. Instead, we'll be taking child registration information through this Google Form. Information collected via this form will be used for Teal to Heal event purposes only.

  • Please Note: If your child wishes to participate in fundraising, please share your personal participation center with them, or consider making a "Team" page and consolidating your efforts. Alternatively, they can download a pledge form below and collect cash donations.

 


Where do I download a pledge form? 

If you're looking to raise additional funds via donations, you can do so by accessing your participant centre, or by downloading the pledge form, here. 


I'm not receiving emails when I request my login details or to confirm registration.

Sometimes it can take a few minutes for emails from the system to land in your inbox. We first suggest that you check your spam and junk folders. Additionally, we suggest adding foundation.cb@nshealth.ca to your "safe sender" list, using the instructions here.

If the email is not in any of your folders and it's been longer than 20 minutes since you requested your login information or you registered and are looking for confirmation, please contact us at foundation.cb@nshealth.ca or 902-567-7752. 

 

Will I get a T-shirt?
All registered participants will receive a t-shirt. Those who register on or before April 17, 2025, will be gauranteed to receive their selected size. Those who register after this date will receive a t-shirt, but size selection will be limited.


Will there be prizes and awards?

YES! There will be trophies and awards available to top teams and individual fundraisers. And, other surprizes throughout the event! 


Is there parking on-site?

Yes, there is parking available at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Center, as well as surrounding areas.


Are there ATMs on-site?

Yes, there is an ATM on-site but please bring cash to the event if you wish to purchase anything. We will have a silent auction, 50/50 ticket draw, a Wellness Expo, and more on-site. 


What else can I expect during the event? 

Along with an incredible outpouring of community spirit, there will be a silent auction, wellness expo, an Honoree Wall to remember our loved ones, a Mother's Day photo booth, live entertainment, prizes, food trucks, and more.
