Hi friends and family,
I am participating in the second annual All for Lungs & Lungs for All, a run/walk in support of those battling lung disease.
The event takes place on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Joan Harris Cruise Pavillion.
"Although it should be an effortless act, breathing, for people with a lung disease like pulmonary fibrosis, can be a painful, challenging experience.";Dr Binnie
Being someone with an incurable lung disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis, that one day may require me to need a life saving organ transplant, I encourage everyone to have the discussion with your families and make your wishes known. If you’re not already; please consider becoming an organ donor.
My mother was an organ transplant recipient, so I understand the blessing that is bestowed onto the people who receive this selfless generous gift of life by the surviving family of the donors.
This is very important to me as my family enjoyed almost 15 years with my mother that we may not have had, if not for the generosity of someone’s choice to be an organ donor and that persons family honouring their wishes.
In honour of my deceased family members, who lost their battles with this disease, and for those of us still fighting, I am participating in this years event. Please consider supporting me in reaching my fundraising goal, if you are able to.
All proceeds will go toward the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation's Heart & Lung Wellness fund, which will support those living with lung disease, needing supports such as oxygen, or even transplants.
Donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt.
Thank you for your support and helping to strengthen health care in Cape Breton!
