I, unfortunately, have a personal connection to this event. I was diagnosed with stage 3C1 cervical cancer in August 2021. I underwent chemo and radiation, finishing my treatment on December 14th, 2021. My treatment plan involved several trips to Halifax. I was one of the lucky ones, I had sick time, private health coverage, a two-income household, and the ability to stay with family/friends while in Halifax. A gynecological cancer diagnosis is MORE than enough stress. All proceeds of this event will go toward the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation's Teal at Home fund, which will support those living with ovarian and other gynecological cancers.
